In 2020, the world faced an unprecedented challenge with the COVID-19 pandemic. For Dibrugarh University and its 169 affiliated colleges, this meant finding a way to conduct examinations safely and efficiently. KB Qube was entrusted with this monumental task — and this is the story of how we delivered.
The unprecedented challenge
With lockdowns in place, the traditional pen-and-paper examination process was impossible. Dibrugarh University needed a robust, scalable and intuitive online system for the online form fill-up of its 2020 examinations. The timeline was incredibly tight: the entire system had to be developed and deployed in just one month to serve over 100,000 students across the region.
Rapid development, flawless execution
Our team worked around the clock, leveraging our deep understanding of the university structure to build a portal that was both powerful and remarkably easy to use. The core objectives were clear:
Simplicity
So intuitive that 100,000+ students and staff from 169 colleges could use it with no formal training.
Scalability
Built to handle immense concurrent traffic during peak form fill-up periods without crashing.
Security
Protecting student data and the integrity of the entire examination process.
Speed
A one-month deadline that was simply non-negotiable.
To make adoption effortless, we created a simple video tutorial that guided students through the entire process — eliminating the need for training workshops and allowing an immediate, smooth rollout.
The success of the 2020 online examination form fill-up was a defining moment for us. It proved our ability to deliver mission-critical infrastructure at scale under extreme pressure.
A landmark success for digital education
The portal launched on time and performed flawlessly. The seamless process enabled Dibrugarh University to conduct its examinations online, ensuring the academic year could proceed despite the global crisis. The ease with which students and college administrators adapted was a testament to our user-centric design philosophy.
This project was more than a technical achievement — it was a vital service to the student community of Assam during a time of great uncertainty, and it reinforced our commitment to empowering education through technology.
